Destroyer - U.S.S.R. Tier VII Tashkent '39 - Captain & Torpedo Boat Build
- Build focus: A fast torpedo boat build for Tashkent '39, centered on its high speed, long-range torpedoes and Torpedo Reload Booster.
- Playstyle: Tashkent '39 is a fast Soviet destroyer with strong torpedo potential but poor concealment. Use its speed to create distance, reposition and launch repeated torpedo attacks.
- Torpedoes: The ship's 10 km torpedoes reload in 93 seconds, while Torpedo Reload Booster can accelerate the reload and enable rapid successive torpedo attacks.
- Survivability: Tashkent '39 has a large HP pool for a Tier VII destroyer, but its large size and high detectability make positioning and speed management particularly important.
- Upgrade choice: If you do not have the Engine Boost Modification 1 upgrade, use Engine Room Protection (ERP) instead.
- Applies to: VII Tashkent '39.
Tashkent '39 is a Tier VII Soviet premium destroyer built around speed and torpedo attacks. The ship reaches a very high top speed and carries 10 km torpedoes with a 93-second base reload. Combined with its Torpedo Reload Booster, this gives Tashkent '39 the ability to launch repeated torpedo attacks in a short period of time.
The main weakness of the build is concealment. Tashkent '39 is large for a destroyer and has high detectability, so it should not be played like a conventional stealth torpedo boat. Instead, use the ship's speed to compensate for its poor concealment. Position aggressively when an opportunity appears, launch torpedoes and use the speed advantage to disengage or relocate before the enemy can punish the approach.
The Torpedo Reload Booster is one of the defining features of Tashkent '39. The consumable reduces the torpedo reload to just 8 seconds when activated, allowing the ship to create extremely high torpedo pressure. The combination of 10 km torpedo range, high speed and rapid reload windows makes the ship particularly dangerous against enemies that continue sailing predictable courses.
Tashkent '39 also has access to Smoke Generator and Engine Boost. Smoke can provide an emergency escape option, while Engine Boost complements the ship's already high speed and is useful for closing distance, repositioning and disengaging.
If Engine Boost Modification 1 is not available, use Engine Room Protection as the alternative upgrade.
