Aircraft Carrier - Italy Tier VIII Aquila
Captain & Ship Build and Strategy Guide
- Build focus: Standard aircraft carrier build
- Captain: Standard captain
- Playstyle: Strike-focused carrier with an emphasis on aircraft performance, survivability and torpedo effectiveness
- Applies to: Aquila
Aquilais a Tier VIII Italian aircraft carrier with a specialized aircraft lineup and a standard captain build designed to improve overall squadron performance. The supplied 21-point build invests across aircraft mobility, torpedo performance, survivability and attack effectiveness rather than heavily specializing in a single aircraft type.
The first tier takes Improved Engine Boost and Air Supremacy. Faster and more flexible aircraft movement helps Aquila reach targets efficiently, while Air Supremacy reduces aircraft restoration time. Together, these skills improve the overall aircraft cycle and help maintain strike availability throughout the battle.
The 2-point investment takes Torpedo Bomber, Improved Enginesand Repair Specialist This combination improves torpedo attack geometry, aircraft cruising speed and the effectiveness of the In-flight Repair consumable. It gives Aquila a balanced foundation for repeatedly sending strike aircraft into combat without sacrificing too much aircraft survivability. /p>
At 3 points, the build selects Sight Stabilization, Aircraft Armorand Survivability Expert. This is a deliberately defensive investment: faster aiming helps attack runs, while the two aircraft-survivability skills reduce the impact of enemy AA and give Aquila's planes more HP.
The final 4-point investment is Proximity Fuze. The skill partially negates the target's torpedo protection, increasing potential torpedo damage and flooding chance. This makes it particularly useful for a carrier whose strike potential relies significantly on torpedo attacks.
Aquila's build therefore focuses on maintaining a reliable attack cycle rather than maximizing one isolated statistic. Aircraft speed gets you to the target, the torpedo skills improve attack effectiveness, and the survivability skills help the squadrons survive enough AA exposure to complete their strikes.
As with any carrier, target selection remains important. Avoid repeatedly sending full squadrons into concentrated AA simply to attack a low-value target. Look for isolated ships, damaged enemies or targets whose positioning makes the attack easier to execute. Efficient strikes preserve aircraft while maintaining pressure.
The survivability investment also means you can be somewhat more comfortable attacking ships with meaningful AA, but it should not be interpreted as permission to ignore enemy AA completely. Aircraft Armor and Survivability Expert reduce incoming losses; they do not eliminate them.
Overall, this is a well-rounded standard Aquila build. It improves aircraft mobility, torpedo attacks, aiming and survivability without committing the commander entirely to one specialized strategy. The result is a flexible setup that can consistently support the team throughout the battle.
