Irresistibleis an unusual Tier X battleship that plays much more like a smoke cruiser than a conventional battleship. She carries sixteen 234mm guns and a Crawling Smoke Generator, allowing her to farm damage while concealed and remain surprisingly difficult to remove when positioned correctly.
The ship combines the Marlborough hull with Goliath guns and a Commonwealth-style Crawling Smoke Generator. The result is a battleship with cruiser-caliber main guns and a gameplay loop centered around sustained fire rather than the long-range crossfire commonly associated with traditional battleships.
Irresistible uses the typical survivability build with minor adjustments. The build is intended to help the ship remain active while farming damage from smoke. Demolition Expert may look attractive because of the ship's large number of guns, but in practice the additional fire chance is not significant enough to justify making major sacrifices elsewhere.
The Crawling Smoke Generator is the centerpiece of the playstyle. It allows Irresistible to continue moving while concealed, making it possible to reposition, kite and maintain pressure without relying entirely on islands. This gives the ship a distinctly cruiser-like rhythm despite being classified as a battleship.
However, there is an important trap: Irresistible has a 10.2 km smoke firing penalty. That means firing from smoke does not automatically guarantee concealment. If you are moving slowly and showing broadside, you can suddenly become visible at exactly the wrong moment, potentially exposing yourself to the entire enemy fleet.
This makes smoke positioning especially important. Avoid treating Crawling Smoke as a permanent shield and pay attention to the ships that can potentially detect you. Maintain enough distance and keep moving so that the smoke provides an opportunity to disengage rather than simply hiding your position temporarily.
Irresistible is strongest when fighting from medium range and using Smoke to sustain fire against targets that cannot easily punish her. Her respectable survivability outside of smoke gives her more flexibility than a fragile cruiser, but the ship still lacks the ability to create the same kind of long-range crossfire that conventional battleships can provide.
The key to Irresistible is therefore adapting your expectations. Do not play her like a traditional battleship looking for long-range crossfires. Use her sixteen 234mm guns, Crawling Smoke and survivability to establish a persistent firing position, keep enemies under pressure and reposition before the enemy can exploit your 10.2 km smoke firing penalty.
Irresistible rewards disciplined smoke management above everything else. Keep moving, watch your smoke firing range and never assume concealment will protect you if the enemy knows where you are.Played correctly, she can farm enormous amounts of damage while occupying a unique middle ground between a battleship and a smoke cruiser.
